The Idea for this wedding styled shoot came alive through the love for Greece. Growing up there but not living there constantly made me realise the beauty of the country every time I visited. Northern Greece is famous for its flora and Thassos is without a doubt called an emerald Island.
Couples are coming to Thassos to get married there and often find it difficult to plan their special day from abroad.
With this styled shoot we want to inspire them to use the natural invironment to create what their hearts are beating for. . In this case it is a laid back but elegant and timeless autumn wedding. There is no need for fancy decoration and go crazy in planing if you can use the already exisiting
The Location is the beautiful Ipsario Garden Hotel, which is located in a little valley between Mount Ipsario and the Aegean Sea. The garden is decked with ancient olive trees, stone pathways and gorgeous blooms and it was just natural to use what the garden was offering to bring our Ideas to life.
We put the main focus on the olive trees and their silver-green-golden leaves and combined a few golden details but most likely more shades of green to keep green as the red line through the day. Olive wood, herbs & flowers from the garden were added and the beautiful papeterie from Papierhimmel completed the setting. It fits just perfect!
Elina & Spiros got married in 2014 in a civil wedding. They always wanted to have a more intimate & personal cermony so they chose to change their vows to renew their promises to each other. We used the beautiful lounge of the Hotel for the getting ready and opted to have the first look in the garden as well as the ceremony. It held place under an arc of jasmine surrounded by olive trees and acacia. The dining table was set up by the poolside, overlooking the garden and the beautiful scenery of Mount Ipsario in twilight. A perfect setup for love.
